It has been an eventful day today, I wanted to share this with you in the hope that it will help.  The highlight the importance of keeping track of websites and domains that you own.

I was using a little known hosting company, they also provided me with auto responders service.  This was all arranged via a mutual agreement and partnership between myself and my technical advice guy.  I was quite happy with the arrangements, and everything ran smoothly flow nearly 2 years.

But it became apparent over the last couple of months that the sites were going down more and more often.  And there seemed to be little or no support from the hosting and autoresponders services or their support.  We made a joint decision to move all of our domains.  Nearly 30 in all, over to new hosting company.  But due to unforeseen circumstances, in the process of doing this.  My partner and technical adviser, has had to withdraw from Internet business for a while.

This left me in a quandary as to what I should do with all of my domains.  It also highlighted the problems of being too reliant on the support of a small number of people.

I would recommend to any new businesses in Internet marketing, no matter, if you have little or no experience or consider yourself a veteran as far as domains are concerned, never put all your eggs in one basket.  Either use a well-established hosting company that has the staffing and support to allow you to host all your domains in one place or work with several hosting companies or joint-venture partners so that Any possible problems that may arise will not jeopardise your whole existence of a world wide web.

I have now moved the majority of my domains into what I consider to be a safer environment.  Having the support and backing of a larger organisation will mean that my future online presence is going to be continuous.

First of all you need to set yourself some goals, you need to find out you reason WHY!!! Why do you want to do business online? What is your motivation, is it your family? Is it your friends? Is it for your enemies? Once you have decided what your motivation is why you are doing this. Then you will know exactly what is needed to become successful in online marketing.

Once You Have Your Reason WHY Then You Can Move on. You Can Start Setting Your Goals. It you have to decide what you want to achieve in your business. Do you want to buy a bigger house? Do you want to buy a better car? Do you want to own a car? Do you want to hold better standing in your community or amongst Your peers?

Setting aside a place on the WWW

Okay, now down to the hard work. You need to find out exactly what tools you need to set up your online business. First of all you’re going to need a website. There are several options here, If you have any sort of technical knowledge with internet it would be a good idea to get yourself a domain. If you feel that this is too complicated for you, then I would suggest that you get a Blog. That will give you the online presence that you require to start a business somewhere, where everybody can go to find out Information That You Are Selling to Them.

There are a lot of different avenues that you can explore to find the best domain or even blog, that you require for your business, I am not going to tell you about them right now, that will be for a latter post. Once you have got the site set up and into place, also you understand the basic procedures needed to set that up. The next step is starting to build some traffic to your site.

You Need to Build Your List.

Building your list is no easy task. There are millions of people online trying to devote their time setting up their own online business and who all think that they can Be making a million by the end of the week. You are no different. but a list is what you need, you need contacts people that believe in what you are saying, and are willing to come back time and time again to look at your products or your services that you are offering. These are what are known as reliable customers or Leeds.

Lead Capture

You will do this by setting up an area of your website domain or blog, with a lead capture, This will be a small section of a script that allows people to fill out a basic form with their name and e-mail address. How do you get them to put their details in to the small box? That’s simple; you need to create an interest or a product that they want. This could be in the form of a free giveaway such as an e-book. Because you are giving away a product or service For free they don’t have to pay for anything. You are more likely to get their details into your system.

• Chose a URL that reflects the content. If the blog is about you use your Name as part of the URL for instance http://deehudson.wordpress.com  or if the content is about a hobby or business use http://art.wordpress.com

• Next make sure that the title has the same name or includes the same name as the URL. for instance

• The Title of each post should have the appropriate key words, for instance

every day for at least the first two weeks

then reduce to every other day for two weeks

then down to twice a week from then on.

 

• Use Feeds to add content from other blogs that are on the same topic or that you feel are relevant to the subject.
